Re: Video Channel Here is some spontaneous looping I did a while back. I have been really digging in to more ambient and textural type styles, as this is very fitting for the spiritual music I play. Also spent alot of time learning how to use tons of effects.
Re: Video Channel Sunny .. my word .. a jazz standard I *like* rather than merely appreciate. Nice work Dave, and inspiration for a lesson or two perhaps chordwise. Get the students comping while I fumble around over the top.
(I have to admit it's the 1970s Boney M version I really know this from. <ahem>)
Re: Video Channel Paul, very nice video -you present very well on camera, and I suspect you could draw a fair sized Youtube following If you kept on producing vids like that.
As for the content, I think you demonstrate very nicely and students would find it easy to understand. The only other point (not a criticism in any way) I'd make is that there's more than one way to skin a cat, and, personally, I do wiggle my finger for vibrato and have my arm tucked in sometimes !! Everyone's different and will approach vibrato differently, add into the mix that there are different types of vibrato, and it all opens up. I tend not to say too much 'this is how to do it' to students, but more 'this is what I've found works for me' and then get the individual student to experiment with things like shaking the wrist, thumb placement, arm placement, finger wiggling etc etc. The one rule is do adhere to across the board is 'If it sounds good, it is good, If it sounds !@#$, it is !@#$' on the premise that bad technique or excess tension never produce good sounds...
Keep up the videos man - you come across like a really good teacher
