I can't speak for anybody else but I'm trying to help here! I'm not getting paid or getting anything out of sharing the info! I've got alot of great information from his course. The articles on his site are free also. The more info people have the better!

+1 to Don’s post. Everything that I’ve ever learned from Tom was totally sincere, genuine and truly effective advice. Whenever I offer advice to others it’s only natural that I refer them back to the source of where I learned it myself.

It's a little strange to get attacked for helping emoticon

I never got the sense that there was a spamming aspect to Tom Hess' name being mentioned here. In fact, considering some of the info that's been shared, I wouldn't be suprised if Hess were a bit pissed that it was being passed on freely.

Troy Stetina and Jimmy Bruno are a couple of other names that get mentioned here also. Is someone spamming for them as well?

I haven't posted for a while, but I've been keeping an eye on the forum, and thought this may come up at some point.

I'm not trying to flame here, so please be kind!

At the end of the day, if Hess' methods work, then they work, end of.

I've looked at his site, however, and it does seem like a kind of 'self help guru' kind of thing. Not really for a lot of people. The link that led to his page about getting students that was posted in another thread was an awful lot of marketing spiel and little actual content. The first two students on his student profile page are called 'Rusty Cooley' and 'German Schauss'.

I have no hesitation at all in believing that people have got a lot from it, but it is presented in a way that would ring alarm bells for a lot of people.

I'm also incredibly suspicious of anything where it is difficult to find the price. Couldn't see it anywhere (if anyone wants to enlighten me, that would be great!).

And inventing something called 'the Elite Guitar Teachers Inner Circle' and then charging people to join it is another thing that turns me off it.

Again, this is clearly just something that falls into the category, of not for everyone. So, certainly just a case of agreeing to disagree.

There's not really any spamming going on though, just satisfied customers reccomending a service their happy with.

Mikewales, it wasn’t clear from your post if you know who Rusty is and who German Schauss is, but if you aren’t familiar with them, check these guys out, they are among the top players in all of shred/metal guitar circles. Check out http://rustycooley.com for example.

They both came to Tom for music career advice in his mentoring programs and EGTIC.

The EGTIC is more then just a group he tagged a name to. It is a course similar to maybe some online college course you might take. He has training recordings where he talks about marketing and working on building your teaching buisness. He also has implementation calls where people call in and he takes thier specific situation and tries to create a good stradegy to help them succeed with their buisness. Their are also interviews with sucessful teaching buisness owners. You also get alot of help from thier forum.

I know Tom does come on strong with the salespitch stuff but he does have good products to back it up. As I said before I got a ton of benifits from this.

I'm an extremely honest person and tell it like it is. It sometimes gets me in trouble. emoticon If Tom's pitches turn you off then fine. It may not be for you. His stuff has been helpful to me and if someone seems to be looking for help I see nothing wrong with steering someone towards a place where they can get it!

Oops! That last post was me. I was showing one of my student Sean how to sign in and get on my forum. And no that is not a pitch for my forum. It is a private forum for my students!

That actually makes it seem quite appealing! If you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost?
